Alright, we had a great night at work. Fairly slow thanks to the rain. Noelle (an old friend) messaged me, and I ended up going all the way to Prosser after work to see if she was still on shift. She only texted me because she wanted to sell McCafe's. Yeah, I'm not talkin to her for a wile.
So I went home, but I drove around a little, cause I heard the car I was looking at moved to just down the road of my cousin who's a mechanic.
So I was coming back on my road.
Side story: Was driving around with my bro and his friends one night, coming home from walmart. Cops pulled me over in my own driveway for doing 45 in a 35 (which was 55 ten years ago, and is the only 35 out in the country for no reason at all.)
So after getting pulled over for that (actually, I was already parked when I saw the lights), I don't drive ABOVE 42. A good, safe number, I'd hope.
Nope.
I was coming home from the long side of the road, out towards the highway, and I have to go up-hills to get home. So I was doing 42, and going up hills, so I was losing momentum.
I saw a car pulled over to the right, and thought, "hey that looks like a cop car. But I'm probably safe."
So I was doing 42 BEFORE going up a hill. So I lost a couple mph because of that. So doing roughly 39 in a 35, I figured I'd be safe.
They turn their lights on as I get close and follow me an 8th mile before turning the flashing lights on. I pull over to the side.
"Do you know how fast you were going?"
"42, sir."
"Not even close. 51."
HOLY SH!T FDIAOSPFUEIAWOJPRFIEOPAJFIDOPASUFGIDOPASURF389QA2U8IFDJSAKJL; HOW DO I DO 51 GOING UP A HILL IN A PLACE I DONT GO ABOVE 42!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Again, he barely gave me a warning, just saying "Try to follow the speed limit."
But seriously WHAT THE HELL!?
I KNOW my speedometer isn't broken, but jesus..
Really? Really guys, really? Is that what we've come to?
I'm not sure, but I might go to city office tomorrow and complain and see if it's possible to get the speed limit changed.
Wow. 51 where I don't go above 42, in what used to be a 55. Sure, totally understandable.
